This is a fantastic place for anyone who is vegan, has a nut allergy or both! As someone who has spent years trying to decipher menus with little context on what has potentially lower risk of allergen contamination, I was floored when the person helping us handed me a nut allergy menu where they break down what for sure will have cross contamination (eg made in the same fryer) and what can be modified/made in a different way to ensure higher safety. Of course they can't guarantee but it sure makes the experience a lot less stressful. I had the oyster mushrooms and honey chicken sandwich with a yuzu-ginger kombucha. 10/10 on all of them. And to top it off, the bartender had a bit of extra milkshake after she made one for someone at our table and she gave brought a little glass of it so that another person could taste it. Cashew-based so I didn't try it but those who had it really liked it. It seemed like we were one of the first tables of the day so it was a bit slow to start as they were still in setup mode (and the rest of our party) but by the time our whole table joined they were moving smoothly and quickly. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic brunch spot with friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. The portions are great with a good variety of foods (comfort, healthy, gf, etc.). Price-wise too, especially given their high-quality ingredients. We love Modern Love!

Modern love is one of my favorite vegan staples in New York City. So many people don't realize that this restaurant exists and it makes me sad because their food is SO GOOD! And I'm a picky foodie so you can trust me, even though I'm vegan ;) The staff so super nice and the ambiance is awesome - it great for a group of friends or a day night and you can eat inside or outside. Also the food. OMG. You must try the mushroom fried chick'n made with seasoned oyster mushrooms, smothered in a mushroom, chickpea gravy, sitting at top a bed of mashed potatoes with coleslaw and chives. The dish will run you $25 but it's worth it. Trust me.

Got take out from here. I started to order, because the food looked really unique. Not until I was told this was a vegan did I realize it, which I normally don't visit. Shrooms & Grits were full of flavor and amazing, possible my favorite dish we got. Rosemary Potatoe salad - it was average, nothing special. Blistered Shishito - the peppers themselves were average, but the dipping sauce that came with them made them so much better! Fried Mozzarella - these were my second favorite item, these were amazing. Although the dipping sauce seemed to just be tomato paste. Chicken Parm Hero - it was ok in flavor, like chicken parm hero, but a but more dry. Dipping sauce did help. Seitan & Waffles - wasn't good at, wouldn't recommend it. Well the waffle were ok, just like plain waffles.

Been thinking of coming here for a while, as it has a nice ambiance and is famed for vegan brunchy food! The drink menu was pretty crisp and quite affordable at ~$12 for a cocktail. I liked my Hot Honee Burger but it was way too much to be able to finish! I appreciate that. The food wasn't anything crazy and I wouldn't crave this to come back, but for a vegan spot in Brooklyn, this is pretty great!

Was craving vegan food while visiting Brooklyn and Modern Love BK came up. After reading the menu I knew I wanted to try it out! We arrived and were sat by staff. They were kind and attentive. To start we ordered a sour beer and the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were SO good. The flavor was delicious, and they were perfectly cooked. We then ordered the hot honee chick'n which was a crispy tofu sandwich that came with their house made hot honee and fries. Wow! The sandwich are fries were so tasty! It was a generous portion. The tofu was beautifully crispy. Amazing texture and flavor. The fries were so fresh and good. Very impressed by this sandwich. For a sweet treat, we ordered their home made ice cream - a scoop of peanut butter ice cream and a scoop of strawberry topped with coconut whipped cream. The peanut butter scoop was so good and creamy. The strawberry was refreshing but a little hard to eat as the fresh strawberries were really frozen. The coconut whipped cream was so creamy and a great addition to the ice cream. Really enjoyed the food and ambiance at Modern Love!

Great vegan food! We were visiting NY and wanted to find a decent vegan food and we found it at Morden Love! The staff is friendly/informative and have great suggestions. Honestly the tofu chicken sandwich stood out as a must have and we were not wrong! The sandwich is crispy not overly greasy and the slaw is delicious. I would highly suggest only having the sandwich in the restaurant because the slaw can get the bun a little soggy and you do not want to miss the flavors with a texture issue. We also tried the Brussels sprouts, amazing, really great flavor and perfectly cooked. We finalized our meal with two scoops of ice cream- peanut butter and strawberry great texture and flavor. Ambiance was relaxed and the restaurant was clean (including the bathroom). Overall if you are a local or looking for a great vegan spot when you are in town I highly suggest stopping by and trying it out. We would have gone back if we had more time!

Ordered for delivery, and it was really good. The Mac with cashew cheese has a nice taste and texture to it - it's topped with buffalo cauliflower, pretty good, a little too vinegary for me. The cauliflower was cooked nicely though. Had the walnut brownie for dessert, definitely worth it. Very good chocolate flavor and it's chewy. Will be ordering again!

VEGAN REVIEW Came here for brunch with my omni daughter & sister 11am Sunday- it was pretty empty. We were surprised! Had the tofu rancheros- yum! Also split waffles for the table. Everything was delicious. No espresso drinks, just drip coffee. Love the music & decor. Friendly service.
